UNNAO Gold Treasure Under Beneath : ASI inches "CLOSER TO THE TREASURE "

The 12 member team from the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) and Geological Survey of India, digging for "1,000 tonne gold", on Saturday reached 15 cm closer to the "treasure" buried at a 19th century fort in a village in Uttar Pradesh.

The team comprising of archeologists, geologists and workers began digging a mound in the ruins of the fort built by Raja Rao Ram Baksh Singh, in Duandia Kheda village in Unnao district, 100km from Lucknow, after a meeting with local officials. A seer had dreamt last month about the buried gold and reportedly told union minister Charan Das Mahant about it.

The team is excavating without the help of any modern equipment at Duandia Kheda. All they have are spades and pickaxes which will take months to reach the estimated 20-metre-spot where a "metal-like, non-rocky layup" was identified during an earth drill on Friday.

Talking to Hindustan Times, ASI's superintending archeologist PK Mishra said, "I am not sure whether we will find gold there. But, our findings have shown that there is something metallic down there. It could be anything. We will be able to predict it after testing the soil texture as we near the spot."

Unnao district magistrate Vijay Kiran Anand too said that the Geological Survey of India's hand-drawn map did show that there was any valuable metal alloy lying underneath.

"We are not sure whether it is gold, iron or any other metal," he told HT.

At present, a joint team of 10 ASI and two GSI men have marked out three 10x10 metre pits around the spot where the drilling had revealed a non-rocky substance 20 metres beneath the surface.

The team has scooped 15cm of sand out of one of the pits, while the digging in other two pits of the same dimensions is yet to begin.

The entire area has been barricaded with bamboo staffs and the three pits have been marked out with 'colour ropes'. ASI officials said the pit dimension and sand sample details would be notified every after two-metre digging.

The hunt has created curiosity after reports that the highly-revered local seer Shobhan Sarkar told Union minister Charan Das Mahant that the country's financial troubles will ease to a great extent if the gold was excavated and spent on public welfare.

But Unnao DM Anand sought to downplay the seer's prophesy, saying the excavation was planned after the Geological Survey of India had noted the presence of some valuable metals beneath the earth at the fort.

ASI"s Mishra echoed Anand's sentiment.

"For us even an earthen pot is of immense importance. We are least bothered about gold and we do not work on dreams. We are just following the orders from Delhi," Mishra said.

He said the presence of a non-rocky substance at the depth of 20-metres noticed during the geological survey was the only "proof" that prompted the excavation.

But Swami Om, Sarkar's disciple, said his guru has a drawn map for the GSI, which clearly mentions the presence of a treasure.

And the man behind it all, Sarkar, feels he may have put himself in trouble by prophesying something many will find hard to digest.

"I have written more letters about the presence of gold in Kanpur and Fatehpur districts. But the one in the neighborhood (Unnao) is enough to save our economy," said the seer.

"I have even asked them to send me behind bars if I am proven wrong," he said.

Sarkar's followers too rallied behind him.

"We know that baba's dream will come true. He has performed many such miracles before," said Virendra Tiwari, one of the seer's followers from Barabanki district.

The excavation -- which is expected to be completed in about a month -- will be filmed, the district magistrate said. Hundreds of villagers and the seer’s followers from neighbouring districts thronged the site as the digging started.

Managing Your Time Effectively

Time is very precious for all of us. If once the time flees it never comes back. So Spending time, like spending money, is a very personal matter. Unlike money, however, you can't get a "time raise" or "save some hours" for a busy day. Successful people, must budget time according to their priorities to ensure that they spend it effectively. To be able to perform effectively at work, time management skills are a must for everybody.

Time management is important for those who wish to have a balanced professional and personal life. Have you ever taken a look around at your workplace? If you were an observant person, you would have probably noticed how certain people complete their task with great ease before the stipulated time while some struggle laboriously with the same. You may have thought it probably has to do with the particular abilities of a person. Yes, it does hint at a person’s capability but it does not mean others do not have skills. The thing missing out in case of others who fail to perform well is the knowledge about time management skills.

Having the knowledge of time management skills is all about being more productive at work while keeping stress at bay. Slogging for long hours at work does not always mean he/she is really a hardworking employee. An employer would then need to check if the particular person is unable to manage his/her time well enough to complete the taskwithin the given hours. If you are often caught in this trap of being unable to manage your tasks well no matter how hard you try, read all about some tips on techniques about time management skills.

Identify Your Goals and Priorities:
The first step in learning to manage your time—controlling your life—is to identify what your goals and priorities are. Think about the set tasks for the day. You would then need to know how much time should be allotted to a particular task. Focus your energy on the important tasks that are completely significant to you. Is there a particular time of the day when you feel most productive? If your thinking powers are particularly sharp in the morning hours, try to finish your important tasks during that period. You can use the rest of time to finish the seemingly smaller tasks later.

Maintain a planner/diary:
Having a diary with all your activities for the day may seem a little cumbersome to you but you must maintain a diary to know the way you plan your day. Make a to-do list to organize things. Mark all the important tasks for the day. Include some time for your personal self as well.

Learn to say no!
Well, when you are delegating your tasks and if you really can’t fit things in the schedule, learn to say no when required. There is a major difference between realistic goals and the completely impractical ones. Find out another alternative in that case. Every problem has its solution and you are not a one-man show, so learn to refuse when required.

Always keep time for yourself:
To be energized for work would require you to plan for some things, which you really enjoy apart from the work schedule. Going for a dance class or exercising at the gym would give you a chance to feel geared up about your work as well. Explore a new place at the weekend. Plan some time for yourself in between meetings; this is absolutely necessary if you are aiming to finish all the tasks on time!

Be flexible but remain in control:
Expect interruptions, as they are bound to occur. If you are doing things in priority order—not leaving big things to the last—you and your schedule will easily survive.

It is therefore very necessary for one to be aware of time management skills and feel more organized at work. These tips and techniques are bound to help you manage your work in the most effective manner!

Below Text News Source from: Zeenews

New Delhi: CABINET APPROVED THE " Protection Against Children Sexual Offenses Bill 2011"

A path breaking Bill dealing exclusively with sexual offenses against children was passed by the Union Cabinet today providing for a 10 year jail term.

which may even extend to life imprisonment.

The Protection of Children Against Sexual Offenses Bill, 2011, also legalized consensual sex with a person aged between 16-18 years.

The new law will cover all new aspects of sexual offences against children not covered elsewhere.

The proposed legislation aims at protecting children against offenses of sexual assault, sexual harassment, pornography and provide for establishment of special courts for trial of such offences.

The bill provides for treating sexual assault as "aggravated offence" when it is committed by a person in position of trust or authority over a child including a member of the security forces, police officer, public servant, management or staff of a children's home, hospital or educational institution.

As per the draft bill, aggravated penetrative sexual assault against a child victim may lead to rigorous imprisonment for not less than 10 years. The bill has provision to extend the penalty to imprisonment for life, including fine.

It will be treated as an aggravated offence where the child victim is below 12 years or has mental or physical disability or the sexual offence causes grievous hurt or injury to the child with long term adverse effect on the child's mind and body.

The punishment for such an offence would be imprisonment of upto seven years with fine.

The punishment for penetrative sexual assault has been proposed to be at least five years in jail and a minimum fine of Rs 50,000.

Sexual assault also includes fondling the child in an inappropriate way which will invite a penalty of minimum three years in jail.

Section seven of the bill provides for "no punishment" if the consent for sexual act has been obtained with a person aged between 16 to 18 years.

There is a special provision in the bill preventing abuse of children for pornographic purpose or possessing pornographic material involving children.

There will be an obligation on the media, studio and photographic facilities not to report such cases and failure to do so will attract punishment.

The media has been barred from reporting the cases without having complete and authentic information and from disclosing the indentity of the child.

The National Crime Records Bureau data shows that there has been a significant increase in cases of sexual offences against children from 2265 in 2001 to 5749 in 2008.

A study on child abuse conducted by the Women and Child Development Ministry showed that more than 53 per cent of children interviewed reported having faced one or more forms of sexual abuse.

Fifty per cent abusers were persons known to the child or in a position of trust and responsibility, it said.

World Bank gives much of Satyam projects to TCS-TATA

World Bank gives much of Satyam projects to TCS

The World Bank has hired another Indian IT major Tata Consultancy Services to do much of the work previously being done by Satyam, which has now been debarred by the bank from doing business with it.

"We have hired Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to do much of the IT work that Satyam used to do," a World Bank spokesperson said.

The IT major had bagged much of the Satyam's project through competitive bidding early last year, thus indicating that the World Bank is not specifically targeting Indian IT companies, as being alleged in certain quarters.

In a statement issued on Monday the World Bank had revealed three Indian IT companies that have been debarred from doing business with it.

Besides Satyam, which has been debarred for eight years beginning September 2008, Wipro (beginning June 2007) and Megasoft Technologies (beginning December 2007) have also been banned for four years each.

Two other Indian companies, Nestor Pharmaceuticals and Gap International (both non-IT entities) and one individual Surendra Singh, too, have been debarred by the global apex monetary institution.

The action was initiated against these entities and an individual as they were found to have "violated the fraud and corruption provisions of the Procurement Guidelines or the Consultant Guidelines," besides offering improper benefits to the Bank staff.

In all, the World Bank has debarred as many as 111 companies and individuals from across the world from doing or bidding for its projects.

The list of 111 entities and individuals debarred by the World Bank from doing business reveal that at least four US companies and five American nationals have been blacklisted.

Of these all except one have been permanently debarred, as against the fixed term for most of the other companies. Companies and individuals from Britain seems to be topping this list with nearly three dozen of them being debarred by the bank.

Govt orders SFIO probe into Satyam scandal; CID team raids PWC office

The government on Tuesday ordered investigation into the Satyam scandal by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), an entity that probes cases of economic offences of grave nature.

"The SFIO will submit its report in three months," Corporate Affairs Minister Prem Chand Gupta told reporters in New Delhi.

The government ordered the probe by the SFIO after receiving a report from the Registrar of Companies (RoC), Hyderabad, which inspected the books of accounts of Satyam Computer Services and eight other companies belonging to the kin of the former chairman of the IT major, B Ramalinga Raju.

Corporate Affairs Minister Prem Chand Gupta said, "The government has ordered the probe (by the SFIO) based on the RoC report.

"The SFIO will be looking into the entire gamut of irregularities and other related anomalies... the (irregularities) in books of accounts and other acts of commission and omission."

The investigating agency, he said, "(has) also been asked to go into all aspects (and role of) directors, promoters, Satyam company, auditors and all."

On the role of the regulator and regulation, the Minister said, "This is an issue which is also being looked into by the government. We will have detailed discussions on this."

As regards appointing more directors on the board of Satyam, Gupta said Corporate Affairs Secretary Anurag Goel was in constant touch with the board and "a decision (to appoint more directors) will be taken without delay...as and when required. We are working on that."

The government on Sunday appointed a three-member board comprising HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh, former Nasscom President Kiran Karnik and former Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) Presiding Officer C Achuthan to salvage Satyam Computer.

Talking to newspersons after the first meeting of the new board on Monday, Parekh had said that more directors were likely to be appointed by the government.

The government, according to the order of the Company Law Board (CLB), which disbanded the Satyam board, can appoint at most 10 directors on the board of IT company.

CID team raids auditors PWC office

CB-CID on Tuesday raided the offices of the Price Waterhouse Coopers in Hyderabad in the wake of the startling disclosure of over Rs 7,800 crore financial fraud .

The CID have also reportedly taken into custody Ramakrishna, an auditor with the PWC to unravel the criminal conspiracy.

Police continued their searches at the house of Chief Financial Officer V Srinivas, who during his interrogation had denied involvement in the conspiracy, claiming that he did what he was asked to do by Ramalinga Raju and Rama Raju.

Indiaterror begins with corpses on trainplatform- Conti

Friday, About 7 a.m., Nariman House

Black-clad commandos fan out on the rooftops of the evacuated buildings surrounding the Jewish center and begin laying down covering fire.

A helicopter drops toward the roof. One after another, masked commandos slither down a rope. The helicopter returns with more commandos, then a third time with equipment.

After so much destruction it ends quietly. There is no announcement of victory. One minute, there are explosions inside, and a few minutes later a man walks casually out into the plaza out front, a place where soldiers in body armor had been sprinting in fear, and waves for firefighters to come put out the remaining blazes.
