Mumaith Khan Biography - A Realistic Dancer

Mumaith Khan an Indian film actress who is very popular for her item songs.Mumait Khan is the uncrowned Bollywood Dancing Queen.Her birth name is Mumait Abdul Rashid Khan. She is also known by the name Munnu.

Her mother's name is Hasina Khan and her father's name is Abdul Rashid Khan.Mumaith's family hailed from Pakistan but moved to India where they settled in the outskirts of Mumbai. Her father is an Indian (Tamil Nadu) and her mother is a Pakistani.

She has acted in nearly 15 movies in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada Languages. It is believed that her item numbers are more popular than the movies themselves. Despite her conservative Muslim background Mumait had to come out into the open and hit the limelight. She suffered extreme poverty and deprivation during childhood.She admits that none stood by their side during their days of poverty.



She is more of a family girl. When her father lost his job, the burden of running the family fell on her tender shoulders.She has four sisters and to support her family, she joined choreographer Remo's troupe at the age of fifteen as a background dancer for just Rs.1500, which was indeed a precious sum to her family in their difficult time. Her sister Zobyn Khan also entered the film industry and has done some cameo appearances in Telugu films.

When Mumait Khan was seventeen, luck smiled on her. She beat dozens of models and eventually bagged the item number in the movie " Munnabhai MBBS" by dint of her talent , in which she performed in a song sequence 'Dekh le' and came to be known as a 'Dekh le girl' in the entire film industry.After the success of "Munnabhai MBBS" the film industry even down south was dancing around her, eager to sign her in their movies.

She gained more popularity with the item song in telugu film "Pokiri".In the tamil film "Pokkiri" which was the remake of telugu film of the same name, also she danced in an item song.
Till date Mumait Khan acted in several films including "Chocolate", "No Time for Love" and "Dil Jo Bhi Kahey..." and others including two of them in Telugu, "Chatrapathi" and "Pokiri ". Mumait Khan reportedly charges Rs.1.5 lakhs per song.

In Dr. Rajasekhar's film Evadaithe Nakenti, she played a police officer's role named F.Myssama. She has acted as heroine in the film ‘Bhookailas’ with Venu Madhav as the hero.
Mumait Khan was also signed by Universal to feature in their music video with famous pop star Enrique Iglesias.

It is reported that on three occasions Mumait Khan flatly refused to do bold scenes, on being insisted by the producers .She said that she was not bold enough and was not comfortable in such roles.

Her only ambition is to have all the things that she was deprived of as a child.
